We went to a fancy hotel by the beach. It was wonderful and the views were much better than from our own home. It was relaxing and we enjoyed the beach scene. Our hotel room was first class, and had a huge bathroom and very modern locks.

This post shows the six steps to troubleshot hotel bathroom door handle.

Step 1: The front desk wanted to know: So what could be the problem? Well the locks in the bathroom if locked by mistake could lock us out of the bathroom.
Step 2: Fig.1 shows a new brass handicapped-approved handles.
Step 3: Fig.2 show the lock not engaged inside the bathroom.

Step 4: Fig.3 shows the latch was locked within the bathroom. If the lock was accidentally engaged and the door was pulled closed, then the door was locked. It was a bit of confusion on how to get back into the bathroom.

Step 5: So what was the solution from the front desk? Rattle the door until the lock came loose.
Step 6: Fig.4 and fig.5 move the door handle up and down several times to release the door lock and it worked.
I spoke to the front desk to see if this problem had occurred before and they stated no it had not. The solution did not disturb our vacation, and I had a story to write about. It was quite funny at the time and now I can share it with my web family.
